Two Capsules of Support Anti-Ox Contain:

• Vitamin A (as 10000 IU Betatene® natural mixed carotenoids and 2000 IU Vitamin A Palmitate) - 12,000 IU

• A free radical scavenger, vitamin A's roles in health and physiology are numerous. The blend of Betatene® natural mixed carotenoids and Vitamin A Palmitate in Support Anti-Ox is balanced to provide easy absorption and improved metabolism. Many patients have a problem converting beta carotene into vitamin A so the Vitamin A precursor Vitamin A Palmitate is used. Betatene® natural mixed carotenoids contain several carotenoids derived from Dunaliella salina algae that are broadly accepted by the scientific community.1, 2, 3

Vitamin C (342 mg as Calcium Ascorbate, 342 mg as Magnesium Ascorbate, 16 mg as Ascorbyl Palmitate) - 700 mg

• Vitamin C is another important free radical scavenger. The 700 mg in Support Anti-Ox is comprised of three different forms, each serving particular metabolic mechanisms to best support the formula's other components. Importantly Vitamin C combats the peroxidation of lipids, which has been linked to degeneration and the aging process. One study of elderly people found that 400 mg of vitamin C per day (for a one-year period) reduced serum lipid peroxide levels significantly. 4, 5

Calcium (as Calcium Ascorbate) - 48 mg

• The calcium portion of the Calcium Ascorbate used primarily to provide quality Vitamin C.

Vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopherol acid succinate) - 400 IU

• Another essential free radical scavenger, vitamin E's antioxidant properties are well known and proven. The vitamin E in Support Anti-Ox comes in the form of d-alpha tocopherol acid succinate to guarantee the best possible absorption given the formula's other ingredients. The succinate form of vitamin E appears to benefit areas of the tissues that are unavailable to the other forms. For this reason, there is a tendency to regard alpha-tocopherol succinate as a distinctly unique and beneficial compound. Unlike other forms of vitamin E, alpha-tocopherol succinate appears to have longer half-life in the body, and does not interfere with vitamin A absorption. 6, 7

Magnesium (as Magnesium Ascorbate) - 26 mg

• The magnesium portion of the Magnesium Ascorbate used primarily to provide quality Vitamin C.

Selenium (as Selenium Chelate) - 75 mcg

• One of the most well-known and proven antioxidants, selenium activates the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase. Long known as a substance synergistic with vitamin E, it is provided here in a chelate to ensure optimal absorption. 8, 9

Lemon Pure Form Bioflavonoid Complex - 100 mg

• This bioflavonoid complex assists vitamin C in keeping collagen healthy, is essential for proper absorption of vitamin C, and prevents vitamin C from being destroyed by oxidation. Bioflavonoids are important for supporting vitamin C's antioxidant properties and reversing the damage caused by oxidation. 10, 11

Alpha-Lipoic Acid - 100 mcg

• The body needs Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) to produce energy. It plays a crucial role in the mitochondria, the energy-producing structures in cells. The body produces enough ALA for these basic functions. This compound acts as an antioxidant only when there is an excess of it (and it is in a state that is available to the cells). There is little free ALA circulating in the body, unless acquired through supplementation. Foods contain miniscule amounts of it. ALA is a unique antioxidant due to its versatility - it helps deactivate an wide array of cell-damaging free radicals in many bodily systems. Support Anti-Ox provides therapeutic levels to serve the goals of discerning practitioners. 12, 13, 14

Activin®; Dried ethanol extract of grape seed (Vitis vinifera) - 75 mg

• Antioxidants, called oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs), found in grape seed extract are significantly more potent than vitamins A, C, and E. Activin® grape seed extract is 2.4 times more potent than vitamin E, 4.8 times more potent than vitamin C and 7.3 times more potent than beta-carotene. Activin or grape seed proanthocyanidins are sustained-release antioxidants, remaining in the body up to 7-10 days following ingestion. 15, 16

Coenzyme Q10 - 50 mg

• CoQ10's key role is to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), needed for energy production in every cell of the body, and is used readily for cardiovascular support. Secondarily, CoQ10 functions as a powerful antioxidant. The antioxidant nature of CoQ10 is derived from its energy carrier function. As an energy carrier, the CoQ10 molecule continuously goes through an oxidation-reduction cycle. As it accepts electrons, it becomes reduced. As it gives up electrons, it becomes oxidized. In its reduced form, the CoQ10 molecule holds electrons rather loosely, so this Coenzyme Q molecule will easily give up one or both electrons and thus act as an antioxidant. The amount of CoQ10 in Support Anti-Ox is sufficient to make a powerful impact unlike most antioxidant formulas which minimize the use of this expensive nutrient. 17, 18, 19

Rutin - 5 mg

• Rutin attaches to the iron ion Fe2+, preventing it from binding to hydrogen peroxide and creating a highly reactive free radical. Rutin is a natural bioflavonoid extracted from fruits of the Fava D'Anta tree native to Brazil. 20, 21
