Pros-5LO Supports Healthy Prostate Function Pros-5LO provides comprehensive support for healthy prostate function, normal urine flow, inflammation reduction, and sexual health. It contains supercritically extracted saw palmetto which concentrates the key lipophilic constituents responsible for modulating the 5-lipoxygenase (5LO) and cyclooxygenase inflammatory enzymes. 5LO is a central determinant of normal prostate cell growth. Green tea, ginger, and rosemary synergistically enhance the inflammation modulating action of Pros-5LO. In vitro studies indicate an inhibitory action of both saw palmetto and nettle root on 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme responsible for the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Pumpkin seed oil supplies essential fatty acids to modulate other inflammatory cascades and is a source of zinc. Pros-5LO contains a broad spectrum of herbal and mineral antioxidant constituents, including selenium enriched yeast, to inactivate free radicals associated with aging.
