InfaSkin Probiotic 30 sachettes | Douglas Laboratories InfaSkin Probiotic™ utilizing the specially designed multi-species probiotic known as Ecologic® PANDA. The “hygiene hypothesis™ is a generally accepted concept with epidemiological and direct clinical evidence that links exposure to certain beneficial microorganisms and bacteria to the development of a healthy immune system.† Specifically, researchers are increasingly finding links between the gastrointestinal tract’s population of beneficial flora and normal immune responses.† Before birth, the developing gastrointestinal tract does not contain any beneficial microorganisms; instead, colonies of beneficial microflora are obtained during the birthing process and through breastfeeding. Rigorous sanitation processes, antibiotic usage, formula feeding and caesarian sections may all reduce an infant’s exposure to beneficial bacteria and microorganisms, which, in general, may hinder development of normal immune responses needed to support optimal health.† Oral supplementation with live, beneficial intestinal microorganisms can support overall health and well-being.† Probiotics have been studied for many roles, including supporting gastrointestinal and immune health.† Douglas Laboratories® now offers InfaSkin Probiotic™, a unique supplement for mothers and their babies, which utilizes the specially designed multi-species probiotic known as Ecologic® PANDA. Ecologic® Panda has been designed for the health and well-being of mothers and their babies. It not only supports gastrointestinal and immune health, but when used appropriately, may also significantly contribute to skin health in infants.†
- Establishes healthy T-cell balance to support normal skin health†
- Clinically studied blend of probiotics specially designed for use by mothers and babies†
- Beneficial microflora shown to support healthy skin in infants†
Reduced Skin Sensitivity In a large, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, Ecologic® PANDA, consisting of Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium lactis, and Lactococcus lactis was administered to women during their last 6 weeks of pregnancy and post-natally for 12 months to their offspring. After 6 weeks of prenatal and 3 months of postnatal administration, infants in the probiotic group experienced significantly less skin sensitivity at 3 months compared with those in the placebo group.† Healthy Balance Maintaining a healthy balance of cytokines produced by Th1 and Th2 cells is important for maintaining a healthy immune response. Supplementation with Ecologic® PANDA has been shown to assist in establishing healthy T-cell balance to help support normal skin. Stability Stability of probiotic organisms is critical to ensuring that a product is effective. The bacteria present in Ecologic® PANDA have been shown to maintain excellent stability over time. Survival Ensuring that beneficial bacteria are able to populate the gastrointestinal tract and influence the microbiota is critical. Infants who received Ecologic® PANDA were found to have a significantly greater population of Lactococcus lactis in their feces compared with the placebo group.
