Glutathione-Blood-Test Forrest Health offers a whole blood glutathione test to assess blood levels from NeuroImmunology Labs. Glutathione is an antioxidant tripeptide that is made in the body from three amino acids, cysteine, glycine, and glutamate. Decreased glutathione levels may result from oxidative stress or may be due to neurotransmitter imbalances. This test should be used for patients who are under considerable oxidative stress, or for those with unresponsive, complex, or chronic neurotransmitter and/or hormone imbalances.

Note: Although this is test requires a Whole Blood Specimen, it does not require overnight shipping. A 2nd Day Delivery Label is included with the collection materials.

Specimen Requirements: 1 yellow top tube filled with whole blood.

Changes have been made for testing days in our laboratory for all whole blood tests and profiles effective immediately:

Testing that utilizes whole blood specimens is performed on specific days in our laboratory. It is important to follow the whole blood collection and shipping instructions to ensure specimen viability.

Whole blood specimens must be sent “Next Day Air” to ensure specimen viability. (Labels are provided at no charge in the collection materials box).

Do not collect whole blood specimens until the day they will be shipped.

Do not freeze whole blood specimens.

WHOLE BLOOD SPECIMENS MUST BE SHIPPED ON TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, OR THURSDAY, FOR DELIVERY TO THE LAB ON WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, OR FRIDAY.

Specimens received on any other day will not be accepted for testing.

During the winter months – December through March - winter specimen shipping boxes are provided and must be used to prevent specimen freezing.
