GABAMax is a formula designed to address neurotransmitter over-stimulation and is used in individuals with high excitatory neurotransmitter activity or increased excretion.

GABAMax does not contain GABA, rather it is a combination of ingredients designed to support GABA synthesis and function. The amino acid is included and has been widely studied for its ability to produce a calming effect and prevent over-stimulation. 5-HTP is included to support the production of Serotinin. Taurine acts by enhancing the effects of GABA. Glutamine contributes to GABA synthesis. N-acetyl-tyrosine is included to provide low-level support for the catecholamine

Ingredients and Suggested Use


GABAMax contains the amino acid theanine, which has been widely studied for its ability to provide a calming effect and prevent the neurotransmitter stimulatory effects. These studies match observations by NeuroScience Inc. that theanine reduces PEA, norepinephrine, and epinephrine activity/turnover and urinary excretion. Taurine is another inhibitory amino acid in the GABAMax formula. Taurine acts by enhancing the effect of GABA. Together these amino acids can quickly reduce high neurotransmitter excretion. The serotonin precursor 5-hydroxytryptophan is included because serotonin is an important neuromodulator that enhances GABA activity. N-acetyltyrosine is included at very low levels to maintain neurotransmitter balance. Other ingredients in GABAMax are vitamin and mineral cofactors of the enzymes required for the synthesis of neurotransmitters. GABAMax contains Suntheanine®
