•  Phosphatidylserine is the major acid phospholipid in the brain. It is critical to efficient cell-to-cell signaling in the brain and supplementation appears to improve the efficiency of this function as well as stimulating acetylcholine release. In one study, elderly patients (65 – 93 years) were given 300mg of phosphatidylserine per day for six months. These then showed significant improvement in mental function and mood over the placebo group (Senacchi et al, 1993)
