About the Combined Saliva and Blood Spot Tests
Putting saliva and blood spot test materials together in one combination kit makes it convenient to collect hormones of the three major glandular systems--reproductive, thyroid, and adrenal--on the same day at the optimal time. This is the "three-legged stool" approach to hormone testing popularized by physician author, Richard Shames, M.D. (Thyroid Power), in his latest book, Feeling Fat, Fuzzy and Frazzled?

ZRT now offers six combination profiles:

• Two Comprehensive Female Profiles are available for women with signs and/or symptoms of menopause.
• Two Comprehensive Male Profiles are available for men with signs and/or symptoms of andropause.
• Two Fertility Profiles are available for women wishing to assess fertility issues.

In each group of two profiles, we offer Estradiol (E2), Progesterone (Pg), Testosterone (T), and DHEA-S (DS) reproductive hormones in either saliva or blood spot. Profile I kits test these hormones in saliva; Profile II kits test these hormones in blood spot. Also in each group of combination profiles, we test the four diurnal Cortisols in saliva and we test thyroid hormones in blood spot.

Tests include:

• In saliva: Estradiol (E2), Progesterone (Pg), Testosterone (T), DHEA-S (DS), and the four diurnal Cortisols
• In blood spot: Estradiol (E2) total, Progesterone (Pg) total, Testosterone (T) total, DHEA-S (DS), FSH, LH, PSA, free T3, free T4, TSH and TPO

Comprehensive Female Profile I (Saliva/Blood)
Assesses gonadal, adrenal, and thyroid hormones. Includes saliva: E2, Pg, T, DS, Diurnal 4x Cortisol; and blood spot: TSH, fT3, fT4, TPO.

 Comprehensive Female Profile II (Blood/Saliva)    
Assesses gonadal, adrenal, thyroid hormones. Includes blood spot: E2, Pg, T, SHBG, DS, TSH, fT3, fT4, TPO; and saliva: Diurnal 4x Cortisol.

 Comprehensive Male Profile I (Saliva/Blood)     
Assesses gonadal, adrenal, and thyroid hormones. Includes saliva: E2, T, DS, Diurnal 4x Cortisol; and blood spot: PSA, TSH, fT3, fT4.

 Comprehensive Male Profile II (Saliva/Blood)      
Assesses gonadal, adrenal, and thyroid hormones. Includes blood spot: E2, T, SHBG, DS, PSA, TSH, fT3, fT4, TPO; and saliva: Diurnal 4x Cortisol.

 Fertility Profile I (Saliva/Blood)  
Assesses hormones associated with fertility. Includes saliva: E2, Pg, T, DS, Diurnal 4x Cortisol; blood spot: TSH, fT3, fT4, TPO, FSH, LH.

 Fertility Profile II (Blood/Saliva)    
Assesses hormones associated with fertility. Includes blood spot: E2, Pg, T, SHBG, DS, TSH, fT3, fT4, TPO, FSH, LH; saliva: Diurnal 4x Cortisol.
