Ionic Magnesium Spray 2 oz | VinCo
The all natural way to help alleviate the symptoms of joint aches, pains, and inflammation
Pain and Inflamation
Pain is the body's message that something is wrong in the system. These issues of pain are not diseases of themselves, but are symptoms of a dysfunction in associated structures. An aging joint shows evidence of wear, leading to pain. If the condition is not treated, the joint can become immobile and this may ultimately lead to deformity of the joint. While aging can not be stopped, the pain and inflammation that result from such trauma can be managed. Joint pain usually occurs when cartilage, the slippery, lubricated cushion between bones, deteriorates. This can be the result of an earlier injury, because it is genetically weak, or due to the process of aging. The result is a painful grinding of bone against bone. - Signs of joint inflammation include swelling, stiffness, tenderness, redness or warmth, and may be accompanied with weight loss, fever and weakness.
Manganese is a co-factor that aids in the activation of a wide variety of enzymes. Manganese-containing enzymes influence many biological activities, including the synthesis of collagen, protein, mucopolysaccharides, cholesterol and fatty acids. It is also necessary for normal bone growth and the metabolism of amino acids. The average human body only contains approximately 20mg of manganese, most of which is stored in the bones. Smaller amounts concentrate in the pituitary, liver, pancreas and intestinal mucosa. Absorption occurs throughout the entire small intestine.
Glucosamine is an amino-sugar that is naturally produced in humans. It is the key building block in the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, hyaluronic acid and proteoglycans. These substances are the foundation of many of the body's tissues including tendons, ligaments, cartilage, collagen, basement membranes, mucous membranes of the digestive system, membranes in the respiratory tract and synovial fluid in the joints. Proteoglycans are proteins that make up the connective tissue of cartilage giving joints their elasticity, strength, and resilience.
Green Lipped Mussel contains many vitamins, especially the B complex group and a broad range of minerals and trace elements. It is also rich in omega 3 fatty acids, protein, provides essential amino acids and is an excellent, well balanced nutritious dietary supplement. Regular consumption of green lipped mussels or their extract may help to reduce joint pain, improve flexibility and rebuild lost cartilage; as well as helping to maintain good healh and well being. In over 30 years of laboratory and clinical study Green Lipped Mussel has been shown to have significant anti-inflammatory, gastro protective and even free radical scavenging properties.
Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is found naturally in the body and is one of the critical compounds in connective tissue which are responsible for building and supporting the substance of cartilage found in joints and elsewhere. CS is also found in the walls of blood vessels. Because CS attracts water, it is an important factor in keeping cartilage fluid and elastic; these are important features of healthy joints. With aging, the water content of cartilage decreases, causing problems in joint mobility. Acute traumatic injury, arthritis, malnutrition, and other conditions can also damage cartilage. CS is a nutritional supplement that provides support for strong, healthy cartilage and joints.
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)is a natural form of organic sulfur that occurs in meats and plants including fruits and vegetables, and it is naturally produced in the human body. Although MSM occurs naturally in foods, even moderate food processing destroys most of it. It provides an important source of sulfur, which plants, animals and humans need for biochemical processes. As an Anti-Inflammatory Agent, MSM reduces redness, heat, pain, swelling and the loss of function associated with inflamed tissues or body parts. In pain relief it is thought that MSM relieves pain via several mechanisms: it inhibits pain impulses along type C nerve fibers, reduces inflammation, which relieves pressure on nerves and tissues, promotes blood flow, which speeds up healing, and reduces muscle spasms.
Bromelain is a general name for a family of sulfhydryl proteolytic enzymes obtained from Ananas comosus, the pineapple plant. It is usually classified as either fruit bromelain or stem bromelain depending on its source, with all commercially available bromelain being derived from the stem. These enzymes act on a wide variety of proteins, including food proteins, other enzymes, fibrin and plasminogen, and have been used for years in the food industry as meat tenderizers. Bromelain is used clinically in conditions such as soft tissue inflammation and arthritis, dyspepsia, and dysmenorrhea, as well as a digestive aid.
Flax Seed Oil is well known as one of the best sources of the essential fatty acids. It contains approximately 50-60% of the omega-3 essential fatty acid known as linolenic acid or alpha-linolenic acid and roughly 18-20% of the omega-6 essential fatty acid known as linoleic acid. Although flaxseed oil contains ample amounts of both essential fatty acids, its true importance is due to the fact that it is nature's richest source of linolenic acid, which is frequently deficient in American diets. Flaxseed oil supplementation in healthy humans reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines, which results in increased calcium absorption and increased bone density. Patients in a year-long double-blind study who took 2.6 gm of omega-3 daily experienced significant global improvements and pain reduction, which allowed a corresponding reduction in the use of pain medication.
Boswellia, or olibanum, is a close relative of the Biblical incense frankincense and has been used historically in the Ayurvedic medical system of India for arthritis, dysentery, liver diseases, obesity, neurological disorders, ringworm, boils and other afflictions. Boswellin is a gum-resin extract from the stem bark of the Boswellia serrata tree. It is a dietary supplement claimed to be useful in the management of symptoms of arthritis.
Turmeric Root, in Ayurvedic medicine (traditional Indian medicine), has been used for centuries internally as a tonic for the stomach and liver and as a blood purifier. It has also been used externally in the treatment and prevention of skin diseases and in arthritic complaints. The laboratory and clinical research indicates that turmeric and its phenolics have unique antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The anti-inflammatory strength of turmeric is comparable to steroidal drugs such as indomethacin. Turmeric has been reported to be anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
Quercetin is one of a number of water-soluble plant pigments called bioflavonoids. Quercetin and the other bioflavonoids cannot be synthesized by humans. However, they reportedly exert a wide variety of biological effects when ingested. It inhibits a number of substances that are responsible for producing symptoms of allergy and inflammation. Part of Quercetin's anti-inflammatory activity is due to its ability to inhibit the production of the pro-inflammatory cytokine called tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). Yucca, which contain sapoins, are said to be helpful in relieving the pain of arthritis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatism when taken over a long period of time
